If you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, then this is likely to have knocked you for six. This is an extremely frightening diagnosis and one that is also fraught with other personal issues. You may feel scared, you might worry about the future, and you might even feel embarrassed to talk about it. There is a lot to work through.

Although prostate cancer requires lifelong monitoring, the good news is that prostate cancer is a highly treatable issue when caught early and has a very high recovery rate. There are lots of treatment options, and not all of these are highly invasive.

The prostate is a gland that helps produce the fluid found in semen. It is located between the bladder and the rectum. The prostate surrounds the urethra. Typically, the prostate is about the size of a walnut. If the prostate becomes too large it causes pressure on the urethra and slows and possibly stops urine flow. One condition that might cause prostate enlargement is prostate cancer. Urinary issues are one of the symptoms of this particular type of cancer.

An overactive bladder is an often-chronic health condition that affects thousands of people every year. Sometimes it happens due to a consequence of other health conditions such as diabetes or inflammation of the spine. However, it could also happen due to other medical causes such as aging.

When you go to bed at night, you expect to wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and rested, unless you hit the sack late and have to get up early like so many of us tend to do. Even when you go to bed at the right time, there is something else that may interrupt your sleep cycle, having to use the bathroom. Many people believe that having to use the bathroom through the night is something that is just a typical sign of getting older. The truth is, that going to the toilet during the night is more common in people over the age of 60. This is because as you get older the body starts to produce less of the hormone that helps you to retain fluids.
